1) MESSAGE TO THE PLAYERS FROM THE AUTHOR
=========================================

First of all - greetings to the Duke Nukem 3D players around the world! I`ve never thought that someday I`ll make
(or to be more precise - modify) a music pack as a tribute to those players, who remember Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown on the
PlayStation gaming console. Y`know, I`m not Duker, after all - my life is closely connected to Doom. so I`m doomer :)
However, I`ve played Duke on the PSX, and I liked it very much. Needless to say I was surprised by the game`s gameplay, humor and gore.
...but not the last - goes music.

You see, my first acquaintance with Duke wan`t on PC (because at that time I didn`t had any) - it was on PSX. Nevertheless, some years later
I was able to get my hands on the original Duke Nukem 3D and I was able to enjoy that game on the 100%. Still, at that time I was already
a Doom player...

So, to those, who remember the AWESOME music made by Mark Knight on the PSX - here you have it!

The reason why I decided to make this pack is that I think that Duke`s soundtrack in some ways is better than
on the PC (No offense, PC Dukers :) ) It was fresh and with style (I guess those why player PSX Total Meltdown will
understand, what I`m talking about). Guitar riffs, some electro...
...man, I just can`t describe it with words! Just plug this pack to eduke32 (dunno what about JonoF`s port - haven`t tested it with
it yet) and go play!

========
2) ABOUT
========

This pack is meant for those who want to play Duke Nukem 3D with the Highres
Pack (HRP) and also like to have high quality music instead of listening to
the old MIDI soundtrack provided with the game in the first place.
However, instead of OGG`s, made from game`s MIDI files, this pack
contains music from PSX version of DUke Nukem: Total Meltdown, made by Mark Knight.

===============
3) INSTALLATION
===============

Easy. Just put the zip. file into the autoload/duke3d.grp folder. The game will automatically load this pack.
This is with EDuke32.
As for JonoF`s JFDuke3D port, I dunno, is this pack compatible with - because I haven`t tested with it yet (sorry for repeat :) )
However, since this pack cam be modified, I guess somebody can make it work with JFDuke3D port. (Like I did - with changing the music :) )

So, in short it is:

- Use official EDuke32 snapshot dated 2008-03-08 or newer for OpenAL support.
  Get it here: http://wiki.eduke32.com/stuff

- The zipfile "eduke32_mus.zip" goes to the "autoload" dir where your HRP files
  are. By doing so, all highres music will be loaded and used automatically.

Possible Problems:

- In case you don't hear any music, check if the music pack lies in the SAME
  directory as the Duke3D HRP. If it does not, it cannot work. In that case,
  either move all your .grp and .zip files to the "autoload" root dir or move
  "eduke32_mus.zip" wherever your "duke3d_hrp.zip" is (e.g., if you have used
  the official HRP installer: autoload\duke3d.grp\).

6) CHANGELOG
===========

Version 1.04.3 (07-30-2008)
>repacked all pack, changed some parameters in music.def and deleted some songs from the pack.
 Hope that it is a final version of this pack.

Version 1.04.2 (07-29-2008)
>repacked everything in the pack, since some songs weren`t playing in some levels after changing music.def (it`s probably has something to
 do with the original duke3d.grp - guess that the order of the songs is coded there, with song`s names as well. So I had to copy some
 songs for 1/2 times for maximum effect)
 Because of that - the size of the pack is changed from 117 MB to 138 MB (sorry, didn`t wanted to change quality - this music doesn`t deserves
 it :) )
>returned old music.def from the original music pack (same reason - I wrote higher)

Version 1.04.1 (07-28-2008)
---------------------------
>changed highres\music.def: due to the repetition of some songs in some levels
>changed highres\music.def: some songs from the previous pack were deleted (the reason is described higher)
>Changed songs are 128 kbps, Stereo instead of 64 kbps. As a result - the size of this pack is 117 MB. (You can blame me :) )

Version 1.04 (03-08-2008)
-------------------------
> OpenAL snapshot and LibSampleRate.dll removed from pack (no longer needed)
> highres\music.def: changes for better modding compatibility with official
                     EDuke32 snapshots (2008-03-08 or later)

Version 1.03 (12-28-2007)
-------------------------
> Modded EDuke32.exe build 9c added
> All files now 64 kbps instead of 128 kbps (minimal quality loss), reducing pack
  size from 101 to 76 MB
> Loopback optimizations
     - "Barmusic": beginning of track shortened
     - "Grabbag": cheers at ending cut
     - "Missimp": ending improved
     - "Stalker": beginning slightly cut
> Volume optimizations
     - "Ahgeez": volume reduced to 70%
     - "Brief": volume increased to 120%

Version 1.02 (09-26-2007)
-------------------------
> "Gabbag" (ENDSEQVOL3SND4) added
> "Barmusic"/"2Bwild" optimized for loopback

Version 1.01 (09-23-2007)
-------------------------
> highres\music.def: wrong definition for E1L11 music fixed
> includes new mod snapshot for better stability

Version 1.0 (09-23-2007)
------------------------
> Initial release (full soundtrack with EDuke32 mod by Hunter_rus)
