Strategies
From Mike Millers Web Site (1997)
http://www.bayserve.net/~mike/sw/strategies.html

There are two main types of strategies to find here. First, there are general strategies, or strategies specifically for single-player mode. And second, there are Deathmatch strategies; these are only for playing in multiplayer mode.

General DM Strategies
(6/4/97 - submitted by Mike Miller!) - Switch to the punch, drop a gas bomb, and you'll be able to throw fireballs just like coolie ghosts throw.

(6/2/97 - a few submitted by Cam Guest) -
Get yourself a flashbomb, a smoke bomb, and some sticky mines. When you see your opponent, set the flashbomb off, use the smoke bomb, and whip sticky mines at him. Sit there and watch as he runs around until he explodes.
I read this one on your page, only it's slighty different. If you know where you friend is hiding, type him a question that needs a long answer, then run in and when he's typing you can get him, cheap, sure, effective, yes. :)
If there is a corner that your opponent always runs around, toss some sticky mines on the corner he will turn into, place some sticky bombs around other places so that the sound confuses him.
If you're out in an open area, use homing missles.S
If someone fires homing missles at you, try running around a corner, or up to your friend kamakazi style, if he shoots you with the rocket gun, he'll die, if you run around him, then the bomb following you will hit both of you.

Fumigate camping pests. The gas grenade is a great item to use while trying to get a sniper/camper. The best strategy is to throw it into the area where the person is hiding, then nail them with a missile or two when they try to escape the poison.
This one works great. If you have sticky bombs and a flash bomb, use this strategy on your opponent. When you're near enough, use the flashbomb and throw a couple sticky bombs onto the person. It's a good laugh to see them recover only to explode, then wonder what happened.
Shurikens are great bait. Throw a bunch onto a wall in plain view, then hide behind something and wait in ambush. While they're collecting them, nail them.
Everyone tries to go for the gun turrents and "tanks" in DM. Lay down a few sticky bombs on them so that no one can use them without getting injured.
This one is good for a laugh and is very effective too if you have a flash bomb and a few sticky bombs. Use the flash bomb to blind your opponent, then toss a few sticky bombs of them just before they fully recover. Start to run away and after chasing you for a few seconds, they'll finally explode. They'll never knew what hit them ;)
If you use a nuclear warhead, try to use it while you're floating on the water's surface. After you fire it, duck beneath to avoid taking damage while your opponent is crispy fried.
Throw shurikens into the wall and set an ambush. They make great bait.
Use the gas bomb to flush out snipers. While they're temporarily disoriented, hit them with a missle launcher.
Throw a sticky bomb into a gun turrent/tank. When your opponent tries to use it, the bomb will explode and harm them (as well as damage the tank).

One of your greatest assets in multiplayer is that your opponent is HUMAN, and as such, subject to weaknesses the computer is not. Use text to confuse your opponent! Send him misleading messages about your position, bluff about having the devastator when all you have is a pistol! Lying and misleading have done me a lot of good with many different opponents.
Try using the following two macros:
PEEKABOO
HI THERE
These almost always make people think that you've got a bead on them, and they'll either stop or go into evasive maneuvers. Either way, you're forcing their hand, which is exactly what you want to do. This technique is good for flushing hiders and snipers. Also, try using the macro and then firing a few blind shots, and many times your opponent will think you're firing at them!

(6/4/97 - submitted by Mike Miller!) - Switch to the punch, drop a gas bomb, and you'll be able to throw fireballs just like coolie ghosts throw.

(5/17/97 - submitted by Adam Rymer) - I have a great way for not-so-good players to keep up with their opponents (in comparison of score). If you are in a shootout with your opponent and he is about to kill you activate your nuclear warhead, this kills both you and your opponent instead of you surrending points. Nuclear warheads can be activated by selecting the missle launcher weapon, and then hitting the 5 key again to activate the nuclear mode. Note, you must first find a warhead; they are hidden well throughout the levels.

(5/17/97 - submitted by PsYcH0) - (same as previously given by Cybsled) After you kill one of the zombies with the bomb box, pull out your sword and run up to the corpse. If you see a spirit rising from the dead zombie, quickly hack into pieces before it has time to fly around. This tactic always works and will save you health and ammo.

Coolie ghosts are always annoying. To save yourself some headache later on, after you kill a coolie, equip your sword and kneel down by the body. You can kill the ghosts instantly and easily with a well placed sword strike as they begin to rise.
By switching to fists and beating up the dummy/wooden post in the Dojo, Lo Wang will actually slowly gain back health, just like the water fountains in DN3D.

Leapfrog - If you're stuck in a tight spot and running low on health, try leaping over the enemy facing you and getting the hell out there. This move works great in open areas, and will tend to confuse many players.

Gunfight - While hiding behind an object, make sure you're facing your enemy, then strafe to the side to emerge and get off a few shots before strafing back to safety.

Strafe and turn - When using spiral stairways, slide in one direction and occasionally turn in the other direction to keep your weapon trained on the middle of the stairway. If you're going up a spiral staircase that turns right, you'd strafe left and tap the turn right button. You can also use this technique to circle an enemy, but if you have Run Mode on you'll probably be moving too fast to keep a steady aim.
